Professor Wall welcomes a true grassroots congressional candidate to the Rural Sense Show: Marissa Selvig, a wife, mother and independent businesswoman from Wyoming who is running for the U.S. House seat from Wyoming in the 2022 elections as a candidate of the Constitution Party. With political experience as both a member of the city council and as mayor of Pavillion, Wyoming, Mrs Selvig originally began running for the Republican nomination for Wyoming’s U.S. House seat, but changed over to run as the Constitution Party candidate in the general election as she saw what was really going on behind the scenes in national politics. In a far-reaching discussion, the Professor and Mrs Selvig discuss a wide range of topics involving the dysfunction within the ‘uniparty’, the challenges of getting name recognition as a third party candidate, the importance of policy over personality and viability, and if the people of America are slowly turning towards rejecting the uniparty system with its usual patterns of voting and supporting candidates, and ready to embrace new faces and parties in the electoral system.
